CONTENTS OF THE THESIS & CHAPTERS

 546 typewritten pages , 427 notes down the pages, 54 consulted textes, 80 internet sites, 638 articoles in order to study the dynamics of italian quoted soccer societies (Juventus, Lazio e Roma). My dissertation is developed in 7 chapters:

• The industry of soccer (in Italy)
• The typical balance sheet of soccer societies (both quoted and not)
• From critical factor of success to risk factor in quotation
• Theorical fundaments for studying the stock dynamics
• Editing methodology of databases and their elaboration
• Returns analysis and association (connection) analysis
  

A linear multiple regression model for the pricing of quoted soccer societies .
The work is a reconstruction of the life of such 3 societies from their first day in Milan Stock Exchange till march 7th, 2003. With particular reference to the normative contest, I analitically represent the balance sheet, with high care of voices that chiefly characterize the soccer “planet”, reaching the construction of a complete qualitative causal net. This is then subjected to a quantitative test through the association (connection) analysis; the shape of returns distribution has been studied by the graphical method of histograms and by the Yang & Zhang (2000)’ volatility estimator. The work is complete, touches every aspect of the problem and the stock returns are put in reference overall to:

sports events
expectancies on such events
press releases about “soccermarket”
accidents
company news and other sports news.

The proposed pricing model is the keystone of the whole work, giving the right weight to the explanatory variables. The result is a full success: R²- factors of explained volatility are included in a range between 0,79 and 0,91 and, known the last close price, the average prevision mistake at the end of the Stock week-day is about 1-2 eurocents. This thesis is also a precious and unique, ecletic collection of all managerial theories on a soccer firm, for a correct and winning management.

This makes the thesis the most important and deep study in Italy above the three Italian quoted societies in Milan Stock Exchange: this dissertation lead the reader to a complete comprehension of the whole casual net of such type of societies It makes him understand why and how a certain behaviour in reality has its reflects in quotation, all filtered by the rigorous device of statics.

I have no fear in stating this is the most complete work published in Italy on the quotation of soccer societies.
